Competitive with a touch of reluctant cooperation. Two decks can be combined to play with 5+ players.
Goblin Plunder was original created as a smaller game, intended to be used as a 'tavern game' within tabletop roleplay games like Dungeons & Dragons. But the quirky little goblins got bold and broke out of their tiny cave!
Keeping the original premise, this game has an automated Dragon character who also takes from the deck and hoards treasure. (The Dragon is designed to be used as 'The House' that the characters play against in a TTRPG setting.) The goblin players have to outwit each other but might also need a bit of cooperation to keep the dragon from taking too much good treasure.
The deck features distinctive 2-ended treasure cards. During the game cards can be rotated to change the treasure, keep treasure from other players, or to avoid mimics in the cave. The design not only creates a 56 option deck with just 28 cards but also adds another layer of potential actions.
